Course Description:

Get ready to move! This comprehensive physical education course is designed to build your athletic skills, foster a spirit of teamwork, and equip you with the tools to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just looking to try something new, this class has something for everyone.

Each week, students will either learn about and participate in a sporting activity or learn about health and nutrition. Students can expect to spend four to five weeks learning and playing each sport, with nutrition classes being held between sports or due to inclement weather.

In the health and nutrition classes, we will use age-appropriate materials to discuss the importance of hydration, nutrients obtained from different kinds of food, and how to eat a balanced diet. At no time will we discuss topics such as BMI or “bad foods”. Instead, we will discuss a balanced approach to nutrition and activity.

Curriculum/Materials:

  • Your registration fee will cover MOST of the costs of purchasing sporting equipment. HOWEVER, when we play baseball, students will NEED to bring their own glove. It would also be helpful if they had a bat to share and a batting helmet.

  • Paper

  • Pencils
