History & Geography at One Day Academy
The study of history and geography are foundational disciplines that help us understand God’s unfolding story in the world. History traces the lives, events, and movements that have shaped civilizations—from the ancient world to the present—revealing patterns of human behavior and God’s providence through time. Geography, likewise, helps us understand the physical world God created and how people have interacted with it throughout history. At One Day Academy, we approach these subjects through a Christian worldview, seeing both time and place as part of God's intentional design. Our goal is to help students view the world with wonder, understanding, and purpose.
Why is the Study History and Geography Important?
From a Christian worldview, studying history and geography equips students to see God’s hand at work across generations and around the globe. History reminds us that humanity is part of a larger redemptive narrative—that while people and nations rise and fall, God's purposes remain. Geography deepens our appreciation for the variety and beauty of creation and helps us understand the challenges and opportunities faced by people in different regions. At One Day Academy, we teach these subjects not only to build knowledge, but to cultivate wisdom—encouraging students to think critically, act justly, and live faithfully in the world God has created.
