State & National Student Activities
One Day Academy offers or endorses the following activities:
THSC Capitol Days is the ultimate hands-on experience in state government and a valuable tool for lobbying the Texas Legislature on current issues of importance. Students and families meet in Austin for activities and training in the legislative process. In the morning session, they will learn about current pending legislation important to Texas home schoolers. After lunch attendees will reconvene, divide into teams, and spend the afternoon at the Texas State Capitol delivering provided packets and lobbying the home school position to legislators and their staff.
TeenPact was founded with a mission to train youth to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture at a time in their lives when, typically, they do not care about such things. This remains our mission today.
A fun, rewarding club that produces each year's One Day Academy yearbook. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn how to produce a professional product, and for them to be exposed to the graphics and publishing world. Students who have yearbook experience often can gain access to similar opportunities in college and beyond.
