Course Description:
Purpose
An introduction to music as a language and how it is communicated, with basic theory, vocabulary and music history all with a hands-on approach. Rhythmic awareness taught through playing of rhythm instruments, games & movement. Through active listening to the best in classical music and composer studies, students will gain a better musical appreciation. Group singing a hymn-of-the-month, intro to reading notes, learning the musical alphabet and many other hands-on activities to enhance the understanding that music is a gift from God that we can explore and enjoy. Perfect for students with no prior musical experience or to supplement beginning music lessons.
