Course Description:
This two-hour class will introduce young children to beginning phonics, handwriting, reading, and number skills. There will also be time for memorizing Bible verses and poems, hands-on science discoveries (health, weather, plants, animals) and social studies concepts (community helpers and patriotic studies). The One Day Academy kindergarten teacher will provide mini-lessons, hands-on learning, and structured playtime. A Parent Packet will be sent home weekly to guide parents in teaching concepts and practicing skills that were introduced in class. Parents should plan to spend approximately two hours at home throughout the day working directly with their child.
