Course Description:
Purpose
This Calculus course covers most of the first 2 semesters of college level calculus, using a college level calculus book. This course introduces students to the 4 key calculus concepts (limits, continuity, derivatives, and integrals) in a class of 12-15 with an English speaking teacher rather than a class of 150 with an ESL Teaching Assistant. Only in this small context can a student learn how to think calculus rather than just do calculus. By establishing a solid foundation in the basics of calculus, this course is intended to prepare a student for college calculus and the things that build on it.
