Course Description:
Kickstart your student’s technology by learning technology applications used in their academic career. Designed for upper Elementary and Middle School students, this course will teach students to integrate the applications necessary in order to succeed in their academic junior high and high school careers. Students will learn and develop skills that includes:
Google Applications (including Drive and Classroom)
Computer basics
Internet basics
Internet safety and cyberbullying navigation
AI tools
Canva
Professional and Informal Email
Resumes
Research & Copyright
Vision Boards, and
Tech Savvy Tips
This course will be conducted through lectures, engaging activities, hands-on practice, and discussions. Fun and interactive projects will be provided with two semester projects. Laptop computers required for class (PC or Mac). All materials will be provided. Homework is expected to be under 1 hour per week.
Students who take this course will be prepared to use any of these applications in future courses in any subject in order to be successful. Get ahead of the game and learn how these applications work before they are needed.
Curriculum/Materials:
Laptop computers are required for class with Internet and Google access.
All curriculum materials will be provided by the instructor at no charge.
