New Testament Greek 1

Purpose/Process

NT Greek 1 is the equivalent of one year of High School Foreign Language credit. It is designed for the High school student with little or no background in the language. It includes a weekly study of Greek vocabulary and English derivatives. During the year, students will learn all 3 noun declensions and cases, verb conjugations, irregular verbs, and various pronouns, adjectives and adverbs. Learning is reinforced through weekly readings and translations. The students will take a fascinating journey through the language of Jesus, Paul, John, and other New Testament figures. Students will be reading weekly Greek texts drawn from various sections of the New Testament, as well as the Greek translation of the Old Testament (the Septuagint), and other early Christian documents.

Purpose/Process

NT Greek 2 is a continuation of NT Greek 1 and is the equivalent of a second year of High School Foreign Language credit. It builds on the grammar and vocabulary mastered in the previous year. It includes a weekly study of Greek vocabulary and grammar. Students become acquainted with the different verbal elements while gaining mastery over the materials from NT Greek 1. Each weekly chapter contains passages from the Greek New Testament, the Septuagint, and early Christian texts.
