Course Description:
Mixed Media Fusion challenges students to break artistic boundaries by combining different materials and techniques into unified artworks. Students will experiment with photo manipulation, collage, texture development, and image transfers while learning to use found objects, recycled materials, and non-traditional surfaces in their creations.
Classes combine technique demonstrations with hands-on experimentation, focusing on creative process rather than perfect outcomes. Students will keep a visual journal to record their experiments and ideas throughout the term. We'll analyze works by notable mixed media artists and hold regular critique sessions to build analytical skills and provide peer feedback.
This course encourages artistic risk-taking and the development of personal creative expression through mixed media exploration.
Curriculum/Materials:
Will be provided via materials fee, some recycled materials may be requested that students bring or use for their specific artworks.
