Process/Purpose
Abstraction in painting allows the artist to communicate in often personal and impactful ways.
The class is designed for all students interested in art. It is meant to be fun, creative, and encouraging to students who are not confident in their artistic skills. It’s a place to try, learn, and succeed.
The course is designed for all levels of experience using multiple forms of medium, students are introduced to a variety of approaches applying abstract techniques and sensibilities to classic art and mixed media. Students are encouraged to develop individual styles in their artwork. Design topics include: handling acrylic media, color theory, composition, depth, movement, abstraction from life, and paint application. Beginning students are welcome.
The Student will also learn the importance of the Elements of Design, the Golden Mean, and the understanding of Composition in Art.
