Mentors

Does This Sound Like You?

• "We have never homeschooled before and are not exactly sure where to start. We want to do it well, but we don’t know everything we are supposed to do."
• "We just pulled our child out of school and are ready to start teaching. We want the best for our child, and we don’t want to miss something important."
• "Our oldest child just turned five, and we are thinking about homeschooling. We have heard that homeschooling is a good choice for kids, but we don’t exactly know how it works. While we are willing to give it a try, we would like to ask some questions of someone who has done it for a while."

If you would like to talk with someone about these questions

We have all been in your shoes. Having walked that same tenuous path, we are committed to making sure that your first experience with homeschooling is both fruitful and gratifying.
In fact, you may consider benefiting from the experience a mentor, a fellow home educator who is:
• Well-accomplished with many different grade levels
• Well-versed in the short- and long-term processes of homeschooling
• Well-acquainted with the useful opportunities in your area
• Well-aware of the pitfalls that arise during those early years
